The project works will be developed and exposed by groups of 3/4 students. They will choose a subject matter dealing with a sport/physical activity.
The structure of the work must be the following:
1. Short introduction about the sport/physical activity chosen.
2. Body: Explanation of one aspect of that sport or physical activity (facility, material, basic rules...).
3. Three proposals (ideas, activities...) for the inclusion of this sport/physical activity in the curriculum of primary education.
The oral expositions must take about 10 minutes.
The deadline to present the proposal to the lecturer is on the 4th of March 2010.

SOME ADVICE:
- Be careful with the web pages you are consulting.
- Control the presentation length: your project musn't be either too long or too short.
- If you are using videos you can either explain them in detail or just use them as an example, but, if you don't want to run out of time, you shouldn't be quiet while your mates are watching them.
- And above all, don't read your written paper.
- Remember: only the oral production will be assessed.

TEACHING PROPOSALS FOR PRIMARY EDUCATION:
3rd cycle of primary education:
- to know different sports from those practised in Spain (sports as cultural facts);
- to compare curling with other targeting sports (e.g. Leonese bowling, petanque...);
- to try curling by using brooms and something that can be pushed towards a target on the floor (for coordination, targeting and team spirit).

CONCLUSION
: I have always been fascinated by things whose simple appearance hides a more complex nature. Sport such as curling, golf or cricket have often been compared to chess because of this reason: under an apparently simple performance (a person throwing a stone or brushing the floor), if you pay attention, you can discover a complicated mental machinery. When my students tell me that, for instance, golf is boring, I always answer that it must have something special if great champions like Michael Jordan or Indurain love it. Anyway, you can never say a sport is amazing or boring unless you have played it before. Meanwhile, you can begin by training like this:
